The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on March 17, 2011, that they will begin a pilot program that allows workers to self-check U.S. work authorization.  This program, which began March 21, 2011, is being piloted in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Mississippi and Virginia.  The new program is a free web-based service that workers can access to correct any errors in Social Security Administration and DHS records before being hired.

If you are an employer in Tennessee, you can legally permit employees to have weapons on your property.  However, does that create an unsafe workplace?  Thanks to a bill signed into law on March 31, 2011, that question was answered.  The measure clarifies that employers who permit employees to carry weapons on their property do not create an unsafe workplace.
