A Kinder, Gentler Boss

Filed under: Communication,General HR Buzz1:07 pm

What kind of boss do employees really want? Google recently endeavored to find out. Using a technique called datamining, Google used internal resources like performance reviews and employee surveys to identify the key traits that employees value in a supervisor.

Not surprisingly, Google found that what employees want more than anything is a boss who takes a personal interest in them and their development.  They also discovered that their employees really don’t want their boss to do their job for them, but rather want the boss to empower them to do a good job, and then step out of the way.

Great news for employers facing a tough economic business environment…you can give your employees exactly what they want, virtually for free!
