Fewer Employers Including Black Friday As Holiday

Filed under: General HR Buzz8:39 am

According to a recent survey report published by BNA, fewer employers are giving the Friday after Thanksgiving as a paid holiday to employees.

As employers look for ways to cut costs and boost revenues, the “best shopping day of the year” has found itself in the cross hairs.  Down from 79% in 2009, this year 74% will include Black Friday as a holiday.

Employers in the manufacturing industry are most likely to offer the famed four-day weekend as a benefit.
